He is an underground full time performer, showcaser & sound engineer and not to mention the second best in S'pore! Wow.. champion ah dier nie.. His name is Faizal Samad. Actually, he is a shy guy, nak keep low profile katakan.. Tapi kalau dengar dier spin... alamak wa cakap sama lu.. gerek!!!! Macam boleh kener pukau gitu lah... Kay, dia cakap, in order to be the best, you gotta undergo many stages of DJ Battles... Makau.. rabak nyer.. Actually, complicated jugak nak jadi DJ nie eh? Anyway, in Nov he's goin to Thailand for a battle. This is the 2nd time that he will represent S'pore. The first time was when he battled in M'sia - 4 in a team ie best 4 from S'pore & best 4 from M'sia. Yang interesting nyer, the crowd is the audience! Sebelum dier boleh gie M'sia, he gotta compete with other DJs kat Zouk Phuture. It's a monthly thing so kener always brush up on the scratching skills coz if you win this month, that doesn't mean that you will win the next month. There's always new people out there with better mixing & scratching skills. Wah, penat eh.. Since he's the best, he's always gotta maintain his position up there.

Tu semua locally, tapi there's only 2 major events to world championships - Technics DMC & Vestax. Lets say, Asian countries kan, dorang nie battle then all the winners will go to world final. Ohh.. gitu rupernyer, dah macam Olympics pulak. Jadi, DJ Faizal kiter nie nyer azam nak jadi world champion.. a melayu world champion. Besides spinning records, he loves to hang out wif his frenz, duduk lepak2 kat club ke, anywhere in the street ke back alley ke wherever lah. Jangan main2 ah, these places brings him inspiration to improve himself. What a unique guy! And guess what, he's no ordinary guy pasal dier nie tak tengok wayang nyer orang, seriously, he would never catch a movie. Weird isn't it? He's the type yang tak leh duduk diam nyer orang. He will feel cooped up in there for 2 hrs wasting time. He'd rather practice his skills, man.. Sometimes ideas juz come up like that, so he need to try how it sounds like.. Even biler dier cakap ngan members dier topic dorang nie selalu pasal music. Orang boleh cakap dier nie giler, tapi all this are ideas to him. Kalau nak bagus, kener ader originality sendiri and that's the hardest thing to have. It took him time to create his own originallity.

Before everything else, dolu-dolu Faizal skate. Tapi malangnyer, dier jatuh & fracture his one of his legs. So he made use of his hands to bring him income & name. Spinning has always been his passion since dier nie Pri 6. Pasal at that time, he followed his kakak2 to tea-dance & for the first time dier nampak DJ. He loved it so much that he buat decision that one day he'll become the best DJ. So pelan2 lah dier save his money in order to buy himself his own turn-tables, mixer & the jarum. He has spent bout $3000 plus gitu. Nie blum campur records tau.. Whoa.. what an expensive passion, man. So kalau pergi bilik dier dah macam studio, ini namernyer bedroom DJ.. According to him, when you play the record terbalik, ader message. Huh? Betul ke? Kalau korang tak percaya eh, pergi cari record Stone Roses & try. Lagu Elephant Song, terbalikkan jadi lagu Waterfall... Happenin jugak eh... But now he's into the Y4K. For those of you yang tak tau aper tu Y4K, every Sat, go to Zouk. They are playin that kinda song rite now. It's the adek-beradik of drum & bass, tapi nie lagi deeper. Really into dance.

Faizal is very focused on his plans for the future - be a DJ & video producer, thats it. Even with the economic crisis rite now, he'll still focuses on his entertainment business. If given 1 million dollars, he'll open up a DJ school. Hmm, that's interesting. He would love to stay & spin in Europe if given the chance.. Nak jadi orang Europah lah... Now, he's preparing for the competition on 18 Sept at Zouk. Nie sape menang, the winner will go to Japan - nie Vestac nyer competition... Such a busy man for a 25 year old guy. Terlampau busy sampai tak sempat nak cari gerlfren. According to him, it's difficult to find somebody who actually understands what he's doin. Keciannyer...
