Aper yang kau merepek nie syaitan!" tiu tiu tiu tiu tiu... hahahahh.. Ingat tak korang kat filem Seniman Bujang Lapok tuu? Dolu2 datuk nenek kiter gie teater untuk tengok criter2 sebegini maklumlah dolu lum ader panggung wayang.. Sekarang dengan zaman modern ini, teater melayu di singapore nie pung still active & alive! Huh, tak pernah dengar pasal teater melayu? ish ish ish.... Nasib baik kiter ader krew AM yang kepo untuk mengenali lebih dekat tentang teater melayu here...

Dat day kiter ader interview bersama 3 orang dari Teater Artistik - Roslan, Sarinah & Hazrie Khamis.. Mula2 lum kenal macam serious gitu muka dorang nie tapi biler dah berbual, waduh waduh, criter hantu pung jalan terus lah... hehehh.. Well anyway, Teater Artistik nie is a teater group which consists of a group of members with lotsa passion in arts, mainly drama.. It all started in 1987 (dah lama siak nie group) when drama at dat time masih tengah naik. So as time goes by, only 6 of them continued their journey as others had other family commitments etc.. In 1992 June, barulah one of the co-founder, Roslan found the name "Artistik" & hence Teater Artistik was born...

Currently, they have 4 active members yang focus nyer more to the movement of Teater Artistik. The other 5 members, kalau ader project/production den they'll chip in.. Also, they would use new faces for their productions.. They produce general kinda shows - no specifications.. Tapi of course lah they produce show yang ader meaning di sebalik dialog dorang tuu.. Ceh, dah berdramalah kiter nie... Normally, when script is ready, it will take bout 5-6 months for all administrative work to be done including auditions.. Sometimes dorang nie dah choose actors/actresses tapi biler time nak practice these actors/actresses cannot manage the role or cannot make it due to some reasons.. Haiya! Jadik they have to find other people to replace the current ones.. Normally, they conduct their auditions end/early of the year.. (macam nak try ah)

So far they had applied submission to the 2000/2001 Theatre Awards - tak nominated tapi been appreciated for their submission jer... Takpe lain kali leh get nominated & who knows will win..insyaallah... Bistu biler kiter ask dorang drama aper yang dorang favourite sangat, dengan pantas the 3 of them said 'Aku'. Huh? Drama nie acherly touch on gay & transexual issues.. Oooohhh.. padanlah response boom! (macam Hazrie kata dengan penuh emosi - "Boom!") Also, dat was the 1st RA play they have produced & it's full house kat substation.. D most memorable play ever!

These productions are not juz drama alone, there is more to it. It's for the community, to teach them bout the art, to respect it & educate people how to appreciate & understand drama.. Wah, so chim ah... Teater Artistik also hopes to one day explore the world of filming. Dorang nie sebenar nyer ok to be bombarded pasal at least people are aware of the issue. Anyway, Teater Artistik adalah satu teater yang daring yang mengupas issue2 melayu. They would also like to be more open in a sense dat to be able to werk hand in hand ngan drama group bangsa lain.. To venture out & collaborate and produce the best teateric show just for the malay community... Also, they are working towards a vision to see semua teater melayu bergabung & setiap teater to share ideas & perform together to a great GALA performance in the Esplanade! Well you guys definitely have our support!

The arts scene in S'pore is getting better since the Esplanade tapi dorang kata the malay arts scene masih banyak lagik yang perlu diceburi - masih lum ader teater yang lebih daring dan bole sampai ke tahap yang lebih tinggi. Also, the malay audience pulak blum boleh accept some of the messages or visual styles of the arts and teater.. To them, kalau cakap drama teater jer, oh bangsawan lah tuu! aahh, boring ah! Aper siak dorang cakap? Bahasa chim sey..Lebih baik tengok wayang, lebih best! Tol tak? Tapi, sekarang nie, not only bangsawan yang diketengahkan but all sorts of ways that a drama can be produced - komidi ke, seram ke, serios ke.. So guys, dont make language or interpretation the barrier to watch drama teater, k.. Juz let ur imaginasi run wild!
