AnakMelayu.com dapat peluang untuk dudok rilek ngan The Bushmen masa diorang perform pat Youth Park on the 29th of June 2002. Kalau you all pernah tengok Bushmen perform "live", you all know that they have a certain form of vibe that gets everyone moving! They guys really know their music and their live performances has always been top notch and today was just as amazing.

Lepas diorang nyer gig dah habis, and after they've caught their breath, we sat down and started the interview. Mula-mula tengok Bushmen up close and personal, diorang macam fierce but actually, after the formal introductions, and things started flowing, they're really down-to-earth and very friendly. So here's how the interview goes...

AnakMelayu.com : Firstly, I'd like to thank you guys for taking the time to have this interview ngan AnakMelayu.com and we really appreciate your time :o)..

Syed : Hehehe.. it's okay.. it's okay, no problem..

AM : So, agak-agak when was Bushmen formed?

Syed : wah.. dah lamer tu.. about 5 years ago..

AM : Wow.. 5 years.. that's a long time. Mesti you all dah experience all the susah-senang that Bushmen faced all those years right? Okay, Kalau you all tak jadi musicians eh, you all ingat you all jadi aper?

Ris : Kalau tak jadi musician eh?... hhhmm.. Kalau tak jadi musicians, I think kerja normal day job jer..tapi tetap members ngan diorang semua.. dani masih involve ngan music industry..

AM : Okay, question nie ader kelakar sikit.. hehehe... maser you all kecik-kecik dulu, you all nak jadi aper? :o)

Ris : Hah??.. kecik-kecik ??..hhmm entah eh, Ikut haluan aje. When time to make decision then make.. just go with the flow..

AM : Abih tu Hassan pulak?

Hassan - Hehehe.. Kecik-kecik dulu nak jadi Doktor gigi ..*semua ketawa lepak* ...jadi boleh jumpa banyak pompuan. Because only the girls yang ade problem gigi. *semua ketawa lagik*..

AM : Doktor gigi eh???.. hehehe.. abih Syed pulak?

Syed - Kecik-kecik dulu, syed betul nak jadi Fighter pilot tapi... *muka tukar jadi serious* because of race & colour discrimination, orang melayu susah nak dapat, and jadi no chance la for me.. so sebab tu sekarang jadi musician..

AM : oohh.. okay, kalau eh... kalau you all ade 1 million dollars, what would you do with the money?

Ris - beli tanah kat Batam *semua ketawa*..

AM : Hah??.. pat batam??.. abih syed pulak?

Syed - 1 million dollars eh?.. tu duit halal ke haram?

AM : Heheheh.. ok, ok duit tu... let's say duit Halal..

Syed : hhhmm.. first, derma... lepas tu bawak mak makan angin *big smile*, lepas tu simpan kat bank sikit.. organise Bushmen pegi world tour... then, kalau ade balance beli rumah...heheheh

Hassan : Kalau duit tu dapat as a band, Hassan nak pegi world tour *big smile* kalau duit tu personal punya, I want to open a recording studio coz that's actually my dream ah.. to open a my own studio and be involve in music..

AM : Ok, between Pamela Anderson, Nadya Hutagalung, Siti Nurhaliza and Jenna Jameson hehehe..*semua ketawa lepak lagik*...siaper korang nyer faveret babe?

Syed - hehehehe.. hhhmm.. actually feveret banyak ah..tak terkira... hehehe...

Ris - Mak saya! *laughters* ... hehehe serious mak saya...heheh.. okaylaa..Nadya Hutagalong.. *grin*

Hassan - Babe eh?... hhmm...ok Ris, kita share... hehehe..mine would be Nadya Hutagalong...oh lupa!.. and Tyra Banks! *big grin* heheheheh....

AM : okay, the next question nie ader personal sikit.. hehehe. Which part of a women turns you on/off?

Ris - Ketiak, heheheheh...kalau lebat atau ader gelap-gelap, pangkah!!! *semua ketawa lepak!*

Hassan - oohh.. yang nie kene ader..Tahi lalat kat kening kanan mesti ader.. kalau takder tahi lalat pat atas kening tak bole apply.. heheheh...

AM : Hehehe... :o)

Syed - For me eh.. tak kisah la.. kalau lawa nak mampos pon, tapi perangai tak senonoh buat per? so.. for me it's personality..

AM : waa.. kalau gitu senang la dapat calon.. hehehe...So how long will Bushmen stay on?

Syed : How long? oohhh..as long as we are still in demand & kiter still stay together.

Ris : Yeah!

Hassan : betol... betol..

AM : So what's actually the main purpose or message of Bushmen?

Syed : Kitaorang actually nak send positive messages thru reggae music for the minority malays to stand up for being
a Malay. Jangan kira melayu aje, show the world that we can also do what the rest of the world can do. Jangan fikir yang orang melayu tak boleh maju...Kiter choose reggae pasal the music can relate to people. It's very mellow, easy to listen and understand, and the lyrics are clear & be able to sing along. Also to prove that Malay can do it in a right way thru music that involves no violence. Our shows never involves or condones any form of violence..

AM : Wow.. hhhmmm.. so, where do you guys see yourselves 10 years from now?

Syed - 10 years from now... hhhmm... touring round the world with Bushmen.. *big smile*

Ris - yeah.. and still stay together...

AM : Abih Hassan pulak?

Hassan - hhhmm...own a studio & be stable with the band.. but kita cuma boleh rancang ajer.. tuhan yang menetukan.. :o)
